Diners eating at a restaurant last night (Fri) were stranded after a tropical storm turned the road outside into a river.<br /><br />Dozens of people were packed into the bar and eatery in Pattaya, Thailand when the heavens opened at 10 pm amid thunder and lightning.<br /><br />The powerful monsoon rain caused a flash flood leaving drivers and motorcycle riders battling their way through the deluge on the road outside. <br /><br />Reveller Pornpicha, 23, filmed the scene as other diners stood on the terrace holding umbrellas in the downpour. One is heard saying in the clip: ''It's like the sea, the waves are so big.'' <br /><br />The second half of the video shows cars negotiating flash floods on the nearby Beach Road area, the main tourist strip in the popular holiday city.
