With just over three weeks until the U.S. midterm elections, the Democratic Party is still leading opinion polls.<br />A new ABC News/Washington Post poll shows Democratic House candidates still lead Republicans 53 to 42 percent among voters.<br />However the GOP is closing the gap with the help of President Trump's improved approval rating.<br />Also, the share of voters who want Congress to be controlled by Democrats has fallen from 60 to 54 percent in the space of a few months. <br />
