Ukranian nationalists march in Kiev to honour WWII-ear paramilitary group

Thousands of Ukrainian nationalist marched through Kiev on Sunday in an annual commemoration of the formation of the World War II-era Ukranian Insurgent Army, a paramilitary group that fought against the Soviet army.<br /><br />Footage shows demonstrators lighting colourful flares and shouting slogans such as "Ukraine back to Ukrainians” amid a strong police presence.<br /><br />Accordingly to Russian media, more than 5,000 Ukrainians attended the protest to express their disagreement with Russian policies.<br /><br />On the same day, riot police intervened to stop some protesters from destroying a Soviet-era monument to Nikolai Vatutin.
