Residents of Doha and neighboring suburbs saw heavy rains and lightning on October 15, marking the beginning of Qatar's Wasmi – or rainy – season.<br /><br />The video, filmed that evening, shows the filmer driving as the storm brewed.<br /><br />A concurrent dust storm also caused low visibility, forcing motorists to slow down and drive extra carefully.<br /><br />Authorities say the country's Wasmi season will last 52 days and bring consistent rainfall and temperatures lower than what the desert country is used to seeing.
