European Council chief says "no optimism" for summit breakthrough

As the deadlock on a Brexit deal continues, European Council President Donald Tusk has called on British Prime Minister Theresa May to come up with "concrete proposals."<br />His comments on Tuesday came on the eve of a crunch summit between the UK and the EU where both sides will try to resolve the issue of the Irish border - a key sticking point in Brexit talks. <br />However, Tusk painted a gloomy picture, saying he had "no grounds for optimism" the matter would be solved at the summit.<br />Mrs. May told her cabinet a deal was within reach if the government "stands together and stand firm." <br />
