South Korea's over-the-counter derivatives transactions hit a record high in the first half of this year,... mainly due to rising global economic uncertainties.<br />The Financial Supervisory Service said Wednesday that transactions topped six-point-nine trillion U.S. dollars during the January-to-June period,... up 14-point-8 percent on-year.<br />OTC derivatives have their transactions negotiated between two parties...rather than through an exchange. <br />Just comparing the numbers in the first half, it's the highest on record since related figures were compiled since 2003.<br />The agency said there was an increase in transactions of interest rate swaps...due to uncertainties over interest rates in Korea and abroad. <br />
