<br /> The latest entry in The Simpsons‘ long-time Halloween special, “Treehouse of Horror,” airs this Sunday on FOX.<br />Uproxx reports the current iteration is number XXIX, the 29th “Treehouse of Horror” episode.<br />This means next year’s edition will be “Treehouse of Horror XXX.”<br />Al Jean told Entertainment Weekly, that the 30th Treehouse of Horror episode will be the show’s 666th episode.<br />The series’ current showrunner joked that it was all part of the creators’ original plan, dating back to 1989. <br />
