Widespread floods swept much of central Texas on October 16, with authorities announcing that at least three casualties have resulted from the tragedy.<br /><br />The Llano River, as seen in the video, crested on Wednesday after rising to almost 40 feet. In Kingsland, the floodwaters overran a bridge, causing the structure to crumble under the pressure.<br /><br />A state of emergency was declared in 18 counties, and several remained under flash flood warnings throughout the night.<br /><br />Four floodgates were open at Mansfield Dam on Lake Travis as of Wednesday afternoon as the lake stood at 135 percent full at nearly 699 feet.
