Do try it at home and send your feedback in the comments below.<br /><br /><br />Ingredients:<br />For Jeera Rice:<br />1 tbsp Ghee<br />2 Bay Leaves<br />1 inch Cinnamon<br />3 Cardamoms <br />4 Cloves<br />1 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds<br />2 cups Rice, soaked<br />4 cups Water<br />Salt to taste<br /><br />For Dal:<br />1 cup Masoor Dal, soaked<br />1 Tomato, chopped<br />1 Onion, chopped<br />1 cup Water<br />1/2 tsp Turmeric<br /><br />For Tempering:<br />2 tbsp Ghee<br />6-7 Pepper Corns<br />4 Cloves<br />1 tsp Cumin seeds<br />8-10 Curry Leaves<br />1 inch Ginger, finely chopped<br />3 Green Chillies, finely chopped<br />5 Cloves of Garlic, finely chopped<br />1 tsp Red Chilli powder<br /><br />Method of preparation:<br />For Jeera Rice:<br />Heat a vessel, add ghee, bay leaves, cinnamon, cardamoms, cloves.<br />Once the spices start leaving their aroma add cumin seeds, rice, mix well and saute it for a minute.<br />Add water, salt, give it a boil and then lower the flame, cover it and cook it for 5-6 minutes.<br />Our Jeera Rice is ready.<br /><br />For Dal:<br />In a pressure cooker, add masoor dal, tomato, onion, water, turmeric, mi well and pressure cook it for 3 whistles.<br /><br />For Tempering:<br />Heat a vessel, add ghee, pepper corns, cloves, cumin seeds, curry leaves, ginger, green chillies, garlic and saute them for a minute.<br />Add red chilli powder, mix it, lower the flame and add dal.<br />Add salt, mix well, cover the lid and cook it for 2-3 minutes.<br />Garnish it with coriander, give it a mix and our dal is ready.
