Teachers and students in at least seven cities around Colombia continued their protest against the nation's lack of resources for public education on Tuesday, October 23.<br /><br />Protestors are demanding that the government comply with agreements that were signed in 2017, which includes salary increases, more classrooms, higher funding and further education opportunities for teachers.<br /><br />According to local media, the National Federation of Education Workers (Fecode), has begun a 24-hour national strike as several teachers and one student continue their hunger strikes.
