An Indian hang glider’s attempt to set a local record went spectacularly wrong on Sunday when he narrowly missed a huge water tank and then crashed into a tree.<br /><br />Mohan Kumar, 25, had planned to land his glider on temple grounds at Poruvazhy in Kerala.<br /><br />The crowd, which had gathered at the temple, gasped when they saw him narrowly miss the water tank. <br /><br />He then smashed into a tall tree and the glider got entangled with the branches.<br /><br />But before the shocked onlookers could summon help, Kumar managed to climb down the tree on his own safely.<br /><br />Kumar blamed strong tailwinds for the accident.
