Catholic Church <br />Under Investigation <br />by DC Attorney General The civil investigation <br />was announced by Attorney <br />General Karl Racine on Tuesday. The investigation is into <br />whether the Archdiocese The Nonprofit Act states <br />that all non-profits must <br />work for a public purpose. The Archdiocese <br />is classified as a <br />non-profit institution. Karl Racine, Washington, D.C., Attorney General, via CNN The Attorney General also <br />announced a new portal for <br />victims of clergy abuse to <br />submit their claims <br />to his office. Racine is pursuing a civil <br />lawsuit because he does <br />not have jurisdiction <br />over most criminal matters.
