Apple iOS 12.1 Update to Fix 'Beautygate' Issue The iPhone-maker has finally admitted that its front camera overly smoothed people's skin in selfies. The issue has been<br />dubbed, "Beautygate." The Smart HDR feature in the iPhone XS and XS Max was choosing the wrong base frame when taking a selfie. The front camera does not have optical image stabilization, so it takes blurrier shots at the same shutter speed as the rear, stabilized camera. This resulted in a loss of detail that looks like smoothing on the<br />front camera. Apple will be fixing the bug in its camera system with an iOS 12.1 update. iOS 12.1 is in public beta and<br />will released soon.
