Dunkin' Donuts Bolsters Its Menu With New
Espresso Drinks The new drinks will be available at most of Dunkin's 9,200 stores in the U.S.
by the holidays. Dunkin' is also spending $50 million for
new espresso equipment and training that will allow U.S. employees to make
the hand-crafted drinks. Dunkin' has offered espressos since 2003 but is now adding bolder drinks to appeal to young customers. The moves are apart of an effort to allow Dunkin' to compete more directly
with Starbucks. Despite the addition of the new espresso drinks, Dunkin' has a long way to go. In 2017, Starbucks controlled 56% of
U.S. coffee cafe sales, while Dunkin's was only 27%.
