A Super typhoon has wreaked havoc on the Northern Mariana Islands, destroying hundreds of homes. <br />For more on this and other news around the world we turn to our Ro Aram…<br />Aram…what's the latest?<br /><br /> Well Mark… Super Typhoon Yutu was bringing sustained winds of at least 265 kilometers per hour when it passed directly over the islands of Saipan and Tinian on Wednesday. <br /> The U.S. territories are home to some 50,000 people and the storm has left communities in ruins.<br />The region is accustomed to typhoons but residents said this was the worst they had ever seen.<br />Vehicles were overturned, power lines were ripped out and storm surges of two meters were recorded.<br />Hundreds of rescuers are trying to clear up the rubble and look for survivors, but their efforts are being hampered by bad weather. <br /> Saipan's main airport has also been heavily damaged, leaving travelers, including some one thousand Korean tourists, stranded. <br />There are reports of one fatality - a woman in her 40s who died in a building that collapsed as the storm hit.<br />Dozens of others are said to have been injured. <br />Yutu will continue to barrel towards southeastern Asia this weekend and eventually head to the open waters of the Philippine Sea. <br />
