USA — Plastic has been found in participants' bodies after they consumed food and beverages stored in plastic wrapping, bottles and containers, according to a study presented at the United European Gastroenterology.<br /><br />Scientists conducted stool testings and found up to nine different particles of plastic present in the stool samples.<br /><br />The most common plastic particles found were polypropylene and polyethylene terephthalate.<br /><br />Marine biologists have also found plastic particles present in the bodies of animals in the ocean, according to an article published in the journal Science.<br /><br />Six of the eight participants had eaten fish from the sea and may have received the plastic from the fish they ate.<br /><br />The study only included a small number of people and would need further studies to confirm the results.
