<br /> According to Reuters, actress Kerry Washington is returning to Broadway.<br />Washington is best known for her Emmy-nominated role on the TV drama “Scandal.”<br />But this week she once again graces the Broadway stage in the new play “American Son.”<br />The play is a four-character story set in a Florida police station.<br />It tells of a mother and father who are seeking information about their missing son.<br />It was written by Christopher Demos-Brown, a trial attorney in Southern Florida.<br />Brown said the play's emotional impetus came from police shootings of African-Americans.<br />The 90-minute production of “American Son” opens on Sunday for a limited engagement.<br />Washington previously appeared on Broadway in 2009 in David Mamet's play “Race.” <br />
