Turkey says the Saudi journalist who was murdered in Istanbul was immediately strangled as he entered the Saudi consulate. <br />For more on this and other news around the world we turn to our Ro Aram…<br />Aram… so Turkey has given its first official statement on this case and the details are quite gruesome. <br /><br />That's right Mark… Istanbul's chief prosecutor Irfan Fidan released a statement on Wednesday, saying Jamal Khashoggi's body was dismembered after he was strangled. <br />Fidan also claimed the attack was carried out as part of a premeditated plan.<br />The statement comes after talks between the chief prosecutors of Turkey and Saudi Arabia. <br />Just hours after the Saudi prosecutor left Istanbul, Fidan said the three days of meetings produced "no concrete results".<br />Riyadh is yet to comment on the meeting.<br />Khashoggi was a Washington Post columnist and outspoken critic of the Saudi leadership. <br />Turkey has suggested Saudi agents murdered Khashoggi under the orders of the ruling royal family.<br />After many conflicting accounts, Riyadh eventually said the journalist was killed in a botched interrogation and that the royal family was not involved.<br />So far both sides have not revealed any evidence to back up their claims.<br />Khashoggi's body, meanwhile, has still not been found.<br />Saudi Arabia has arrested 18 suspects, who, it says, will be prosecuted in Saudi Arabia. <br />Turkey wants them to be extradited. <br />
