Thousands of Google staff across the world have staged a series of walkouts in protest at claims of sexual harassment, gender inequality and systemic racism. <br />Thursday's demonstrations comes a week after it was reported that Google gave a 90-million-dollar severance package to Andy Rubin, the creator of Android, while hiding that he had been accused of sexual misconduct.<br />Rubin has denied the allegations.<br />The protesting workers have made several demands, including an end to pay inequality as well as greater transparency about sexual harassment. <br />Google CEO Sundar Pichai insisted the firm had taken what he called a "hard line" over sexual misconduct and would support employees who took part in the protests. <br />
