Exports of Korean ginseng chicken soup to China have soared a staggering 22-FOLD over the past three years,... thanks to the dish's exploding popularity throughout China.<br />According to data from the Korea Agro-Fisheries and Food Trade Corporation, samgyetang exports to China surpassed 100-thousand U.S. dollars in 2017,… up from just four-and-a-half-thousand dollars in 2013.<br />The rapid rise was attributed to a hike in the number of single-person households in China, which surpassed 200-million,… and the Chinese public's growing interest in healthy food.<br />The agency cited avian influenza as the biggest threat to samgyetang exports.<br />In fact, the rise in exports jolted to a halt in 2017 after the outbreak of bird flu in South Korea in late 2016. <br />
