The United States has expressed its grave concerns about North Korea's human rights issues, in response to last week's damning report by the U.S.-based Human Rights Watch. <br />The report contains testimonies from North Korean women on how widespread sexual violence is in the North.<br />Voice of America on Monday reported that a State Department official said Washington continues to call attention to abuses against women in North Korea by amplifying the voice of women survivors.<br />The official said the Trump administration has been very clear about defending human rights, and will continue working with the international community to resolve the issue. <br />The official also highlighted that President Trump raised the regime's dire human rights record during his Singapore summit with Kim Jong-un in June. <br />
