A spiral-bound notebook may seem normal, but the spiral binding needed to make it, seen here, is bizarrely satisfying.

Footage filmed in Washington state last month (October 30) shows the stationary technique at work.

The wire coil moves seamlessly through the punched holes of the paper, with the continued revolutions creating a mesmeric image leaving the viewer transfixed and in awe.

The filmer said: "I work at the print shop at my university as a part-time job. I do everything from printing assignments/exams/worksheets to delivering said requests to the professors."

They also said: "They’re really so much fun to do! I always snag the spiral jobs when they come through."
