인권위원장 “북한인권 외면 안해...북한인권재단 빨리 출범해야”<br /><br />As inter-Korean cooperation moves forward, the issue of human rights in the North will not be neglected.<br />That's what the chief of Seoul's human rights commission said Wednesday.<br />Speaking at a parliamentary audit, Choi Young-ae... told lawmakers that a foundation to address human rights in the reclusive state should be launched as soon as possible.<br />The foundation in question would conduct research on the status of human rights in the regime and help civic groups improve conditions there. <br />But its launch has been delayed by partisan differences.<br />Pyeongyang has been pushing for Seoul to scrap plans for the foundation as well as its law on North Korean human rights which went into effect two years ago. <br />
