CNN reports the Midterm elections were historic for multiple reasons.<br />Two Muslim women were elected to the House of Representatives.<br />For the first time an openly gay man was elected governor.<br />Democrats Sharice Davids and Deb Haaland will become the first Native American women elected to Congress.<br />CNN projected that 96 women would win House races, a record from previous midterms.<br />Rep. Marsha Blackburn became the first female senator to represent Tennessee. <br />
