Florida to Ban <br />Greyhound Racing <br />by 2020 A constitutional amendment to enact the ban passed by 69% on a November 6 ballot. Tracks will now have until January 2021 to phase out greyhound racing. Critics say the passage of 'Amendment 13' will all but end what's left of the industry. This is because Florida has 11 of the <br />United States' 17 remaining <br />active dog tracks. Florida state records show that amounts wagered dropped from $1.5 billion in 1992 to just <br />$200 million last year. 'Greyhound Pets of America' says that up to 15,000 dogs will need new homes.
