American sunscreens may not be as protective as those found in other countries.<br />According to Business Insider, nine out of twenty of the best-selling US sunscreens don't meet European standards.<br />The FDA has approved 16 active ingredients that protect against UV radiation.<br />But only some protect against both UVB and UVA rays.<br />In contrast, Europe requires that all of its more than 20 active ingredients protect against both. <br />
