Gale force winds gusting up to 65 mph sent huge waves smashing into Penzance's promenade this evening (November 9).<br /><br />The spectacular display of mountainous waves, known locally as 'Cornish Fireworks', brings many locals and visitors to the normally tranquil promenade. <br /><br />The man in this clip got dressed up in wet weather gear to get an immersive experience with the sea. <br /><br />He'd clearly done it before as he was wearing a helmet underneath the oilskins to protect himself from the stones that are thrown up by the powerful storm swells.
