At least 23 people have now died in California in what is being described as the U.S. state's most destructive wildfire in history and the third deadliest. <br />More than 100 people are missing in Northern California, as the flames continue to leave towns and homes in ruins.<br />The so-called Camp Fire, which began Thursday, is just one of three major wildfires that firefighters are battling across the state.<br />An estimated 250,000 people have been forced to flee their homes.<br />California Governor Jerry Brown has asked President Trump to declare a major disaster to boost the emergency response and help recovery efforts.<br />In a series of tweets in recent days, Trump has drawn anger by saying that poor forestry management is to blame for the fires.<br />But on Sunday, he did extend his sympathies to victims. <br />
