Attorneys for S. Korean forced labor victims turned away by Japan steelmaker

강제징용 배상소송 패소 日 신일철주금, 한국 변호인단 '문전박대'<br /><br />Last month, Seoul's Supreme Court ruled that a Japanese steelmaker has to compensate four Koreans forced to work for it without pay during World War Two.<br />Today, attorneys for the victims went to the Tokyo headquarters of Nippon Steel and Sumitomo Metal Corporation to discuss how it will pay the victims... but they weren't allowed in.<br />The team, along with some South Korean and Japanese activists, brought a request for the company to pay immediately, but they were unable to talk to any of its employees.<br />Security blocked them from going up to the offices.<br />They waited for about half an hour, but eventually had to leave.<br />Since the firm refused to discuss the matter, the attorneys said they will go ahead and seek the confiscation of its property in South Korea as planned. <br />
