Station staff blocked off the entrance to the Port Authority Bus Terminal on the evening of November 15 due to severe overcrowding.<br /><br />Five inches of snow was dumped on New York City, surprising commuters who were told in forecasts that they would be expecting only half an inch of snow.<br /><br />Officials closed the doors to the terminal at around 5:15 pm, and commuters were advised to seek alternative forms of transportation.
