The Republican-controlled Ohio House of Representatives voted Thursday to pass a six-week abortion ban.<br />Also known as a "heartbeat bill," the House passed it with 58 votes in favor and 35 opposed.<br />If the legislation becomes law, it will essentially make abortion illegal in the state.<br />Under the bill, physicians could be charged with a fifth-degree felony if they administer abortions after six weeks of a pregnancy.<br />The bill now goes to the Ohio Senate. <br />
