Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has thanked North Korea and Sweden for their cooperation on facilitating the release of an American citizen in the regime. <br /> Pompeo released a statement Friday where he referred to Sweden as their protecting power in North Korea, and thanked Stockholm for its advocacy on behalf of American citizens.<br />He added the safety and well-being of Americans remains one of the highest priorities of the Trump Administration.<br />Earlier Friday, the North's state media said it plans to deport Bruce Lowrance at an unspecified date. <br />The man was detained last month after crossing the border with China. <br />The state media claimed he confessed to entering the North under the direction of the CIA. <br />
