A Korean-American candidate running for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives has lost her race, according to the Associated Press.<br />The AP declared the race on Saturday, local time, for California's 39th district for Democrat Gil Cisneros who beat Republican Young Kim.<br /> Kim appeared to be in the lead on election night, but as postal ballots came in, that lead shrank and then disappeared.<br />The lateset count, according to CNN, put Kim behind by 1-point-6 percent.<br />Young Kim would have been one of two Korean-Americans elected to Congress this cycle along with Andy Kim from New Jersey, a Democrat, and she would have been the first Korean-American woman.<br />Andy Kim won his race, and is the first Korean-American to be elected to Congress in 20 years. <br />
