A suicide bomber in the Afghan capital of Kabul has killed more than 40 people and injured dozens more after targeting a crowd of religious scholars.<br /> Other reports have suggested the death toll was more than 50. <br />The scholars had met inside a wedding hall near the city's airport to celebrate Prophet Mohammed's birthday.<br />No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, but the Taliban and Islamic State affiliates have carried out similar attacks before.<br />Mohammed's birthday is celebrated by Muslims around the world, but extremist groups believe marking it is sacrilegious. <br />
