Hundreds of crabs on the Japanese island of Okinawa came out in force earlier this year (September 12), to the shock and surprise of one microbiologist.<br /><br />Filmer Yumi Shirai Green was there with a PhD student and was picking specimens from the beach for a microbiology experiment, when she came across the cast of crabs.<br /><br />Green said: "I was just surprised, it’s kinda gross too."<br /><br />The hermit crabs were spotted on a beach near the island's capital city of Naha.
