Nissan has sacked its chairman, Carlos Ghosn, days after his arrest for alleged financial misconduct.<br />Thursday's vote was unanimous across the seven-member board and ends Ghosn's near-20-year reign of the Japanese carmaker. <br />It also marks a drastic fall from grace for the auto industry legend, who is credited with saving Nissan from bankruptcy and forging a successful alliance with Mitsubishi Motors and French carmaker Renault.<br />Ghosn's dismissal had caused concern about the fate of the alliance, but Nissan said the partnership remains unchanged.<br />The economy ministers of Japan and France, which holds a 15 percent stake in Renault, also reaffirmed their support for the Nissan-Renault alliance. <br />
