Myself and my wife moved to Cornwall seven years ago upon retirement at 60. Came here so I could surf when I liked, walk the coastal path, and cycle. What more could you ask for?<br /><br />I'm now what they call a Type 1 diabetic. As far as I'm aware, it's never affected my oral health because I've always, well, not always, but since my 20s, I've kept my blood sugars under control very, very strict.<br /><br />Amongst other things, I've got an odd bite. So my bottom teeth come to the front of my top teeth. Dentists in Redruth, said that there was a problem with my bite because I've worn my teeth.<br /><br />I'd started to have problems chewing. So I was doing a lot of chewing on my front teeth because I was gradually losing my bottom molars.<br /><br />She referred me to Mark. Mark gave me two options. Well, one option as far as I was concerned. The first option was dentures. I wasn't going to have dentures and dentures, as far as I know, are quite difficult to swim in so I wasn't going to stand on the beach and take my dentures out before I went for a surf.<br /><br />Although I've been 40 for 27 years, that was not an option, and the other was implants. I needed four implants. I think, five crowns, and I had composite filling on the rest of my teeth to try and bring my bite forward.<br /><br />When Mark advised me of the cost, my thought was do I want to chew? Do I want to be able to eat steak? It's a no brainer.<br /><br />The dentures were probably half the cost. I wasn't interested in the cosmetic side. I'll I want to be able to do is to chomp.<br /><br />When I was researching the dentistry that was required on my mouth, on my jaw, I probably went as far as Bristol, but I was convinced I could not get any better treatment in Bristol or wherever than I would have done at Pure in Truro.<br /><br />I found Mark very professional and friendly, if you can imagine that. Immediately I got the impression that he certainly knew what he was talking about.
