We took a walk from home down below the weir with the minimum amount of kit, to do a spot of legering in the faster water. I dug out the barbel rods and my daughter Anastacia's feeder rod.<br />I have fished this stretch of the Warwickshire Avon many times over the years and had a prolonged campaign there last season with only mediocre results, catching bream and chub but never any barbel. <br />However, this short impromptu session was something a bit special.
