Entire populations of the world's cacti have virtually disappeared all over the world.<br />According to Mother Nature Network, some of that's due to habitat destruction for roads, infrastructure, or mining.<br />But the far bigger problem is because of poaching by smuggling rings from Asia, Russia, and Eastern Europe.<br />Illegally collected plants command large sums, and the internet makes it easy to find buyers. <br />
