Ice Cube to Executive Produce <br />MTV's 'Celebrity Deathmatch' Reboot 'Celebrity Deathmatch' was a popular show in which stop-motion animated celebrities battled to the death. It ran from 1998 to 2002 and <br />was brought back in 2006 before <br />being canceled again in 2007. According to 'Deadline,' MTV <br />has recruited rapper/actor <br />Ice Cube to work alongside co-producer <br />Ben Hurwitz. Ice Cube and Hurwitz hope <br />to find a home for the series <br />on streaming and digital platforms. Ice Cube will also reportedly <br />star in the show, though his <br />role has yet to be disclosed. Some people speculate that he could <br />take over the role of the referee, who <br />was previously voiced by Mills Lane. MTV is also bringing back other popular '90s shows including, 'Daria,' 'TRL,' <br />'Spring Break' and <br />'The Real World.'
