Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko confirmed the dispatch of units from the Airborne Assault Forces of Ukraine to regions bordering Russia on his trip to the Zhytomyr Region on Thursday.<br /><br />"From this military airfield, the elite of our troops - the units of the Airborne Assault Forces will be transported to important defensive regions and districts in accordance with the approved plans," he said.<br /><br />The Ukrainian president, referring to the "Russian aggression", was confident troops would be "ready to respond adequately, quickly and effectively to any challenge, to take away any threat."
