President Trump Nominates William Barr for Attorney General At a recent press pool, Trump called Barr a <br />"highly respected lawyer" by both <br />Republicans and Democrats. President Donald Trump, via press pool Barr held the Attorney General role under President George H.W. Bush <br />from 1991 to 1993. At the time he also oversaw <br />Robert Mueller, who then lead the <br />Justice Department's criminal division. The 68-year-old Barr will now take charge of Mueller and the <br />special counsel's investigation into alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 U.S. election.
