Activists gathered outside the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles Monday to mark International Human Rights Day.<br /><br />The event was organised by independent organisation Union del Bario in support of immigrant rights.<br /><br />On the same day, thousands marched towards the Mexican border as part of a demonstration to demand the US government to end deportation of illegal immigrants and pull military from border communities.
