Janelle Monae Joins <br />Gloria Steinem Biopic The film is an adaptation <br />of Steinem's 2015 <br />feminist memoir, <br />My Life on the Road. Monae joins Julianne Moore <br />and Alicia Vikander. Both actresses portray the <br />women's rights activist at <br />various stages in her life. Bette Midler is <br />also set to play <br />the role of Bella Abzug. Monae has had a <br />successful career in film. She launched her big screen career <br />with 2016's 'Moonlight' and rose to <br />critical acclaim in 'Hidden Figures.'
