A combination of the drug tablets <br />featuring amlodipine, valsartan<br />and hydrochlorothiazide <br />was also named. A statement <br />from Teva <br />Pharmaceuticals The drug could contain a<br />possible human carcinogen called<br /> N-nitroso-diethylamine (NDEA). Teva warned that patients <br />taking the drugs should contact <br />their doctor or pharmacist <br />about alternative medications. The company was clear that <br />stopping the drugs without <br />an alternative in place could <br />pose a greater health risk. The recalls reflect an increased <br />focus by the FDA on drug impurities.
