Bowing to the mounting pressure from within his party, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has announced his decision to step aside from his role of Umno president.<br /><br />He made the announcement Tuesday night, saying that he would hand over his duty to his deputy Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan to restore the party.<br /><br />Many Umno leaders and members said they had lost confidence in Dr Ahmad Zahid's leadership as the party has seen an exodus of members leaving Umno to join other parties.<br /><br />Read more at https://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2018/12/18/zahid-steps-aside-as-umno-president/
