Thousands of British troops are on standby to respond to any fallout stemming from a possible no-deal Brexit. <br />The UK's defence secretary, Gavin Williamson, announced the deployment on Tuesday, as London makes contingency plans for Britain crashing out of the EU with no deal.<br />The troops include engineers, mechanics and drivers mostly drawn from a number of army regiments, and they will help government departments if needed.<br />The government has also advised businesses to make their own contingency plans. <br />With 101 days left until Britain leaves the EU, Prime Minister Theresa May is desperately trying to persuade hostile MPs to vote for her Brexit deal. <br />
