In a heart-stopping incident a bus hit the railing of a bridge and was left teetering on the edge after an accident in central India earlier today (December 19). <br /><br />The incident took place on the bridge over the river Narmada at Barwaha in Madhya Pradesh state, when a passenger bus from Indore to Burhanpur collided with a truck on the bridge and veered to the edge. <br /><br />The left front and rear wheels of the bus were seen hanging outside the bridge, 75-feet above water.<br /><br />Onlookers rushed to pull out about 40 passengers from the windows on the other side.<br /><br />A passenger, Ashish Rawat, said: “The bus would have plunged into the river if it had not stopped after hitting the railing. We were shocked to see the wheel hanging outside the bridge.”<br /><br />The local police rushed to the spot to manage the rescue work. “No one was hurt in the incident,” said an official.
