Washington Attorney <br />General Sues Facebook Over <br />Cambridge Analytica Scandal D.C. prosecutors claim Facebook <br />misled users when they were <br />allowed to download a <br />Cambridge Analytica produced app. The app secretly <br />collected private <br />information from users. Cambridge Analytica is <br />alleged to have used the <br />information to influence <br />the 2016 election. Prosecutors say the action <br />violated the District’s Consumer <br />Protection Procedures Act. Facebook <br />users downloaded <br />the app. The app mined private <br />information of users and <br />friends of users, affecting <br />approximately 340,000 accounts.
