South Korea's defense ministry has released a statement in response to Japan's claim that its patrol craft was targeted by a South Korean warship's fire-control radar. The statement released Friday evening said that the warship was not aiming at the Japanese surveillance aircraft.<br />A military source said the ROK Navy's vessel used its fire-control radar during a normal search operation to locate a North Korean vessel,... which had drifted into international waters near the inter-Korean sea border. <br />The South Korean defense ministry said it had already explained the situation to Japan, but said it would explain again to clear up any misunderstandings.<br />On Friday, Japanese Defense Minister Takeshi Iwaya told reporters the use of the radar could lead to a dangerous misunderstanding. <br />
